Orleans Saints vs Indianapolis Colts |NFL Super Bowl XLIV An Exciting Thing to Happen This February 7

Of all the single-day sporting events, the Super Bowl is the one most likely to be amplified and glorified beyond all proportion, regardless of the teams that qualify.

But even by its own overblown standards, the impending edition of the Big Game At The End Of The NFL Season promises to be something special, worthy of the Roman numerals and unrestrained hype.

With the Jets and Vikings now out of the biggeset sporting event this January, they could have been better contenders.

One of them, the Colts, is a team that is a 21st-century powerhouse. The other, the Saints, is a team that has never previously made it this far, one that was born in 1967 and has endured decades of failure and lately has come to embody the hopes, dreams and pride of a legendary party city that is still fighting back from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Brett Favre, Viking's Quarter Back, has nearly grabbed the treasure at the end of the rainbow instead it was gone when they lost to the Saints.

Manning has become the definition of the modern cool-customer quarterback, a 6-foot-6 gunslinger who has flawlessly transitioned into the company of a new head coach and a couple of fresh new receivers this season.

In qualifying for their second Super Bowl in four seasons, the Colts are reinforcing their status as one of the premier teams of the 21st century, if not the best. They have more total wins than any franchise since 2000, yet trail in championships behind New England's three and Pittsburgh's two. The Colts won over Chicago 29-17 three years ago at the same venue as this year's Feb. 7 game, Dolphins Stadium now bearing the Sun Life label, in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Carrying the upstarts to an 11-point advantage before Manning and Co. took over with the help of a raucous home crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Manning is the real deal for the team as with his records could only show that he has been an MVP of the SUper Bowl XLI.

Reggie Bush said,"It might not exist any more if we go to the Super Bowl. They might tear it down.", when asked before the game if New Orleans would ever be the same if the Saints won.
